7 Days Great Mara crossing safari

 Day 1: THE TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK (The Elephant paradise)

You will be picked by your guide from the hotel at around 07:30hrs. and drive to Tarangire national park which takes approx. 2.5 hrs. covering 120 km. The huge trunked trees (the baobab) welcome you to the park which are the major attractions together with huge herds of elephants seen scattered in the variety habitats of the Tarangire national park. We also have antelopes, lions, leopards and more than 350 species of birds and hence a great site for the bird lovers. The park is normally hot between 30-35 degrees at most annually. You will have a picnic Lunch and later at around 16:00hrs leave the park and drive to Karatu or Manyara town for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: THE SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK (THE SAVANNAH WITH NO ENDS)

 Leave the hotel or camp at 09:00hrs and head to the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro conservation Area. The road is rough and dusty from the NCAA gate that brings you to these huge multitudes of zebras and wildebeests accompanied by hyenas, jackals and sometimes lions as you enter the southern plains of the Serengeti. You will have your lunch at Naabi hill gate and thereafter proceed with your game drive that brings to the lodge/campsite at 18:00 hrs for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: TRANSFER TO THE NORTHERN SERENGETI.

After a full night of wild sounds from the nocturnal predators, you will now have an experience of what it means being in the wilderness. After breakfast, leave the lodge/camp and head to the north with game drive en route accompanied by your lunch pots. The drive takes approx. 4-5 hrs. on rough and dusty roads.  You will drive to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN THE NORTH.

The game drive today concentrates along the Mara River and some adjacent plains.

Day 5: TRANSFER TO CENTRAL SERENGETI.

Drive to the central Serengeti with game drive en route with a picnic lunch.

Day 6: THE NGORONGORO CRATER (WORLD’S EIGHTH WONDER).

Today the breakfast will be served early so that you can leave at 07:00hrs and drive to the Ngorongoro highlands and thereafter descend some 610 m into the crater. The drive takes approx. 3.5 hrs to the crater where more than 25000 animals and scenic views awaits. A picnic lunch will be served on the crater’s floor and in the late afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to Karatu/Manyara for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK (TREE CLIMBING LIONS).

Leave the hotel/camp at 08:00hrs and drive to the park situated on the floor of the Gregory Rift, a branch of the East Africa Great Rift valley. The park covers 330 sq km dominated by the lake covering 230 sqkm. The terrain which is a long stretch of land between the lake and the rift valley wall is dominated by an ever-green forest fed by underground streams from the wall. The forest accommodates monkeys, elephants, buffalos, bushbucks, waterbucks, giraffes and some cats like the lions and leopards. After an early lunch you will leave the park and drive to Arusha/Moshi/Airport
