5 Days 4 Nights Calving Season Safari
Best Time
January - March
Duration
6 Days 5 Nights
Overview
This 5 days calving season safari will take you to experience the calving season of the Great Migration, which usually takes place between January and February of each year. While the route of the migration has remained the same for thousands of years, the exact timings of the journey vary depending on seasonal rainfall, so these timings are merely a guideline. The wildebeest will try to give birth to calves in better conditions, which means that they will avoid any predator that could cause a lot of complications in the process. Sadly, predators are pretty intelligent, and they always head to the south of Serengeti (the places where everything will happen) to take advantage of the vulnerable newborns, making it a very risky natural situation for the heads of the family since they will protect their calves with everything they can.
