Day 1: THE TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK (The Elephant paradise)
Leave the Lodge at 06:00 hrs. in Moshi and drive to Tarangire national park which takes approx. 4 hrs. covering 210 km. The huge trunked trees (the baobab) welcome you to the park which are the major attractions together with huge herds of elephants seen scattered in the variety habitats of the Tarangire national park. We also have antelopes, lions, leopards and more than 350 species of birds and hence a great site for the bird lovers. The park is normally hot between 30-35 degrees at most annually. You will have a picnic Lunch and later at around 16:00hrs leave the park and drive to Manyara town for your dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Manyara national park forest walk.
Leave the camp/Lodge at around 07:30 hrs. and drive to the park which is some minutes’ drive to the park gates where your ranger will be waiting for your 2-4 hours forest walk. Lake Manyara national park is located right below the wall of the great rift valley dominated by an evergreen forest fed by underground streams hosting elephants, bushbucks, baboons, colobus monkeys, buffalos, the tree climbing lions etc. After the walk you will have a little game drive as you head to the exit gate before meeting your chef again for a hot lunch.
After lunch you drive through the Ngorongoro highland and down into Lake Eyasi basin characterized by rocky ridges and baobab trees. The drive takes approximately 4 hours. If time permits there will be an optional drive to the lake for a sunset before heading back to the camp.
Day 3: HUNTING EXPEDITION.
Leave the camp at 05:00hrs with only a cup of coffee and drive to the caves on the mountains where the traditional hunter-gatherer people with the richest and most interesting history dwell. Hunting excursions are a mix of honey gathering and eating berries, but also opportunistic in case of a monkey or mammal appearance. The hunting is a mix of walking and occasional running if the hunter sees something exciting. You will also meet the Mangati people previously known as Emangat who once lived on the Ngorongoro highlands before the Maasai pushed them down to this area. This is the most respected enemies by the Maasai. You will then get back to the camp for a branch and then leave the area and drive to the Serengeti national park via the Ngorongoro conservation area. Upon arrival, you will have a late evening game drive as you head to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE.
Leave the camp/lodge at 07:30 hrs. after a full breakfast and head for the day accompanied by your lunch that will be served at a place of your guide’s choice or picnic site. All the wildlife dramas and surprises end at 18:00hrs when your guide takes you back to the camp/lodge to meet again your stomach engineer who has been preparing something to feel your bellies before you go to sleep.
Day 5: HALF DAY GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO NGORONGORO
Leave the camp at 06:00hrs for an early morning game drive and sunrise. You will then head back to Naabi hill gate and in the early afternoon, drive to the Ngorongoro highlands for your late afternoon crater rim trekking for 2hrs. After the trek drive to the camp/Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: EXPLORE THE CRATER (WORLD’S EIGHTH WONDER)
Leave the camp/lodge early and drive into the Ngorongoro crater where more than 25000 animals including the rare black rhino will be waiting on the crater’s floor. Your lunch will be served on the crater’s floor and at around 12:00hrs leave the crater and drive to Arusha/Moshi a drive that takes approx. 5-6hrs.
